WHY can india take steps to host winter sports?
In general I think it’s lack of enterprising individuals. There are only a handful of ski areas in India and they are not well known or established as destination locations. When the per capita income is also around $2900 annually, but you have the second highest population on the planet, you have to wonder how many Indians are going to be able to afford to take a ski vacation. Is there enough capital to invest in a resort that will attract outside visitors? When it comes to something like hosting the Olympics, there’s a whole bunch of reasons. First is the lack of historical performance of Indian athletes in Winter Sports. Since a host country can field teams in all sports, it would be quite embarrassing for the home country to have little or no chance placing in any of the events. Geography is another reason.
