2001 and older 1.8T’s do not need the COMPANION in order to make the factory remote lock/unlock the doors while the turbo timer is idling the engine. For these vehicles, you only need to add a relay and bypass fuse #6. If you have a 2001 or older 1.8T, we recomend you check out 2001 Turbo Timer Install & Mod page.
