Why cant I use bleach when laundering my socks?

Nearly all Wilson Sport Socks are knit, in part, with spandex, which reacts to the chlorine in bleach by becoming brittle. This often leads to the yarn cracking or breaking down. Typically, this will affect the top of the sock, resulting in the sock not staying up or falling down. We suggest using non-chlorine bleach.
