Why can’t I tell whether my friends have read the JoinVite invitations that I sent them?
In designing the JoinVite.com system, we wanted to make it as easy as possible to send and receive the kinds of invitations that people otherwise might not make by e-mail or telephone. For example, if you’re planning a late-night coffee break on short notice, you might think twice before contacting your friends by e-mail or telephone. But with JoinVite.com you can create that invitation and make it visible for your friends, without adding to their e-mail clutter or disturbing them by phone. If some of your friends log on to their JoinVite.com accounts while your invitation is active, they’ll see the invitation – and nobody else will. But we also wanted to make it possible for JoinVite.com members to log in as often as they wish, without worrying about other members “seeing” that they have viewed particular invitations but not responded to them.
