Why can I start ProCite?
ProCite may be set to automatically open the last-opened file. If that file is severely damaged, ProCite attempts to open it and stalls. To start the ProCite program only, without the last-opened file, hold down the SHIFT key while you double-click the ProCite icon. You can then use the File menu to Open a database. You may need to rebuild the database ProCite originally attempted to open.
