Why can I run the downloader application I received from MSDNAA? Why shouldn I use Mozilla Firefox to access downloads on the MSDNAA web site?
An issue has been reported regarding the use of non-Microsoft web browsers when accessing the MSDNAA online and downloading applications. Specifically, the problem occurs when obtaining the downloader application (which delivers, decrypts and unpacks MSDNAA software) using non-Microsoft browsers, like Mac Safari or Mozilla Firefox. The downloader is an executable program, with a .exe file type extension. Some browsers (such as Firefox) will not downwload the file with this extension, and it must be added manually by renaming the file. However, it is recommended that you instead use Microsoft Internet Explorer when accessing the MSDNAA service to avoid these download problems. Note: Since the downloader application is a Windows executable (*.exe) file, it will only run on a Windows computer.
