Why can I drink alcohol when on a low carb diet?
You should not drink alcohol during the first few weeks of low carb dieting because you are trying to cut your cravings for sweets. Drinking alcohol can increase symptoms such as bloating, sugar-cravings, and gas. All of these things can interfere with weight loss. However, An occasional drink of alcohol later on in your diet (after induction), is perfectly fine as long as you make a low-carb choice, such as Vodka or wine.
