Why can’t I chemigate my fertilizers and pesticides on my farm with my private applicators license?

Chemigation is a separate certification category that is required of all applicators before they are allowed to apply fertilizers and/or pesticides through any irrigation system. Pesticide dealers must verify the applicator’s chemigation certification before they can sell any fertilizer or pesticide that will be used for chemigation. Additionally, all chemigation systems should be checked by the ISDA prior to use. Use of a chemigation system without proper anti-polution controls or chemigation without proper applicator certification is a violation of Idaho Pesticides Law and Idaho Chemigation Rules.
