Why can I access my att email account?
For several months now, some AT&T customers have been experiencing difficulty when trying to use their email programs. The cause — AT&T’s merger with Yahoo. As a result of the merger, AT&T is moving its email services to the Yahoo mail system. You will keep your current email address but will be using a different mail server. For customers using Microsoft’s Outlook or Outlook Express, there may be an interruption when their email account is moved to Yahoo’s servers. Typically, the customer stops getting mail, or receives a message indicating that they are using the wrong password. The solution is to modify the email server settings in your email program, rather than trying to change the password. The email interruption usually occurs after the customer receives a notice from AT&T indicating that it is time to upgrade to the new ATT-Yahoo home page.
