Why can Aliases (or Shortcuts) be stored on the DocHaven server?

0

Aliases pose a problem with compression and restoration. Where possible aliases are resolved and the original file is stored (such as Smart Projects). You therefore need to ensure you don’t create an infinite loop such as an alias of the DocHaven folder inside a Project! When you take the Project out again, only the original file will remain, not the alias. If you want to keep a project that has aliases where the original files get backed up, but that the alias itself never gets resolved then use the Boomerang feature to place a copy of the project on the server yet keep the project and its aliases out.
