Why can women wear mens clothing?
Why can woman wear men’s clothing? Because women earned the rights. It wasn’t all that long ago. Society viewed women who wore pants as “bad” women. They were considered a threat to femininity. We were told that they were trying to act like men. Girls were not allowed to wear pants to school – they’d be sent home. Women had to wear skirts and dresses to work, to church, anywhere in public. It just wasn’t acceptable to wear pants. Still some women did wear pants. They were challenging social convention. When Katherine Hepburn wore pants to an interview, Hollywood was shocked! Eventually society learned that these women were not a threat to femininity nor were they trying to act like men. Women could still be feminine, attractive, and “good” even in pants. Today when men wear women’s clothes society seems them as being “troubled”. They are not happy with their gender, or their sexual orientation is unhealthy.
