Why Can One See Different Colors In Clouds?
Colored cloud informs a lot about internal activities of the clouds. Clouds are formed by small units of water which are tightly jam-packed and sunlight cannot pass through the clouds before it is reflected out and thus giving a white color to the clouds. As a cloud grow the small units of water started to combine and become droplets. These droplets may combine to form larger droplets which fall in rain form. When drops started to accumulate the space between drops grows as well thus allowing the light to pass from these spaces, present in the cloud, much beyond and some light is reflected and some absorbed by the clouds. This procedure of absorption and reflection makes different cloud colors from white to grey and from grey to black. Other colors appear in the clouds naturally. When light disperse in the clouds then this give cloud a bluish-grey effect. Blue and green colors are at the short rays of light and thus are much easily dispersed by water drops.
