Why can food waste now go in the brown bin?
The food and garden waste is going to be treated at a specific composting facility that uses In-Vessel Composting. This heats the waste to a temperature that kills bacteria that may cause foot and mouth. Only waste in the trial area is being sent to this facility so please do not put food waste in your brown bin if you are not part of the trial.
