So how does a scholarship fund, one entertainment channel and one month out of 12 months in the year perpetuate racism? I’m trying to see where we as black people are excluding white people from watching BET or celebrating Black history month with us? Because the last time I checked, being racist meant discriminating against someone based on the color of their skin. And I’ve watched BET, no where have I seen hatred towards white being suggested or encouraged on that channel. As a matter a fact, a white man now owns that channel. Not one time in my life have I heard someone say that white people aren’t allowed to participate in any activities celebrating African American history in the month of February. I understand not being able to apply for a an African American scholarship fund, but that would be the same as me (as a black woman) trying to qualify for an Asian Pacific Islander scholarship and I’m black.
