Why Burn Candles?
There are many reason why people will burn candles. When asked some will reply that burning candles provide romantic ambiance, while others will indicated that it is because of the scent. Candles provide a great look for your home décor as well. But are those really the only reasons why people enjoy burning candles? Perhaps burning candles is a manifestation of other deeper reasons. Fire is often representative of power and of destruction. Maybe the act of burning a candle satisfies some deep desire for controlling a destructive force in a world where we may not be able to control very much else. So, in a way, burning candles could be our own way of controlling things that otherwise are uncontrolled in our life. Others would look at a candle burning and see a beautiful piece of nature. There is something majestic and transfixing about the way a flame dances on top of the candle, mingling with the ebb and flow of the air currents.
