Why build an OS Project Control Data Warehouse? Why not a retail or manufacturing data warehouse?

Data warehouses tend to be built to deliver information about revenue streams. Projects don’t generate revenue so are rarely considered for this type of treatment. We would maintain that, though they don’t generate revenue, many projects carry inherent risk that can have considerable impact (negative and positive) on operations and so directly impact the revenue stream. Knowing where the rocks are doesn’t eliminate the rocks. It just helps you figure out where the path is.
