Why bottles become yellow quickly?
PET bottles become yellow after 2 or 3 days of exposure because of high content of iron in water. Moreover, SODIS is not efficient when there is high concentration of iron. However, if the water is filled in a container and allowed to stand overnight without a cover the iron flocs will settle to the bottom. This water can be filtered through a piece of cloth and used for SODIS.
