Why bother with goalie skates, anyway?
The answer to that is two-fold. 1) I didn’t want to destroy my player skate blades by getting them goalie-sharpened. 2) I wanted to actually be able to move across the crease with my leg pads pointing at the people (and puck) in front of me. It was either buy a pair of goalie skates or get my feet surgically rearranged on my legs. The skates sounded less life-altering. Why these skates?
