Because creationism is dreadful science. In fact, it’s not science so much as a campaign to evangelize fundamentalist religion. Creationists are running scared from the evidence for human evolution, as well they should be. They have no good explanation for the fossils, and human evolution is a topic on which the creationists are especially vulnerable because they can’t afford any compromise. If humans evolved, then the whole rationale for creationism collapses. As a number of people have pointed out to me, creationists are unlikely to change their mind no matter what the evidence is, or how often they are refuted.
