Why Blacks Don’t Play Baseball?

0

As a black male who grew up in a low income black neighborhood, I can attest that no one in my family played baseball, because we grew up playing football. Why? Because it was a sport that our parents of other family members watched and thought perhaps we could do that one day because we were exposed to it and was encouraged to play it. But for some reason baseball was not glamorized in our community as football was at the time. I didn’t even play basketball or know what it was until I was 10 years old and moved to an all white upper middle class community in San Diego, California with my new stepfather and mom. I only played baseball because my step-father who was a well traveled and educated man met me when I was 9 years old and signed me up to play. It turned out to be the first organized sport I ever played even though I loved and played football in the backyard as a kid with large groups of friends and family from the age of 5. It goes to show that blacks are not, Not playing base
