Why biomedical engineering?
I have always had a passion for Science and Mathematics, dating back to when I was in middle school. When I got to high school, I met with my career counselor and I filled out one of those career assessments. It told me that I was definitely geared towards a profession in engineering. I did some independent research and found that engineering was a really cool, up and coming field and that the job market was very favorable for engineers. So I came to Drexel as an Undecided Engineering major with the intention of choosing later on what specific branch of engineering I would want. Biomedical Engineering was acutally a choice that was inspired by my mother. My mother is a nurse, so she had always fascinated me with her stories from the medical field. When I discovered that there exists a kind of engineering that encapsulates the medical field and engineers devices to directly impact people’s lives, I was sold!
