Shortly after the meeting the country successful launched the process of developing a comprehensive decennial strategic plan for the education sector. The process ended in 2005 with the adoption of the plan and the beginning of its implementation. As part of the country’s commitment to undertake action toward universal primary education, a policy document has been produced to improve girl schooling and reduce gender unbalances in primary education.
