Why aren transcripts and streaming media available during or immediately following the NewsHour broadcast (or not at all)?

Transcripts for NewsHour broadcasts come from a professional transcription service. The transcription, editing, proofreading, and Web production take time. Transcripts of two segments from each broadcast are usually posted on the site by 9 PM Eastern Time each night. Transcripts of the remaining segments are usually posted by the end of the next business day. Audio recordings of the broadcast are usually available within an hour after the end of the program (approximately 8 p.m. ET). We post video (when we have the necessary rights) the next business day. Occasionally we cannot stream a segment due to legal agreements which limit use of the footage to a one-time broadcast.
