Why aren there more signs to remind motorists they are still within a 30 mph speed limit ?
Street lights usually mean there is a 30mph speed limit unless there are signs showing another limit. In effect therefore the streetlights themselves act as the regular reminder to motorists of the 30mph limit. National law does not allow for repeater signs to be used for 30mph limit on lit roads and any provision of such signs may invalidate Police speed enforcement. It is only in locations where street lighting does not exist that 30mph repeater signs are permitted.
