The primary reason is,most remanufacturing companies are far more interested in the huge profits that are to be found in the complete remanufacture of a cartridge instead of making the much smaller profits we make by selling a premium cartridge refilling kit (as you just saw in the preceding Q&A, we, too, would much rather sell you a much more expensive and profitable remanufactured cartridge than a bottle of toner). We don’t fault them for that attitude, either. As with any business, their job is to make a profit. And, as we all know, when making profit, more is better. There is far more profit to be made in performing the remanufacturing operation as a service than there is in selling a bottle of toner and letting the customer refill their own cartridge.
