Why aren the environmental groups suing Mexico for all the damage caused by illegal immigrants?
Why is everyone so cynical and bitter? A few thoughts: The uncontrolled growth isn’t caused primarily by illegal immigrants; obviously they contribute somewhat too, but not in a way that makes them the problem — not even close. The issue with respect to illegal immigrants shouldn’t be why people aren’t tougher on them, but why they exist in the first place, and I’d suggest that it has to do with the world’s hegemonic power (ahem, USA) and the rest of the developped world constantly reinforcing the unfair division between haves & have nots, such that it mostly just sucks to be in Mexico, and many people will try to get out if they can. I figure if we create (or at least contribute to) the problem, we need to help deal with the consequences. As daveycakes mentioned, it’s people in general who cause these environmental problems, and it has very little to do with who and where they are: immigrants, legal or otherwise, would be taking up resources in their home countries as well as in the
