Why aren the edges of my plate sealing properly when I use the Eppendorf heat sealer?
You may not be pushing the heater down far enough. Holding the handle on the top of the unit, push the heater down to the plate. Once the heater is resting on top of the plate, continue to push down to compress the floating springs an approximate distance of 5 mm. These springs must be fully depressed in order to create a complete seal. Hold this position for 5 seconds. Then turn the plate 180° and hold for another 5 seconds.
