Why arent pets allowed on elevators?
There are several reasons that animals are not allowed on elevators. Dogs cause corrosion and rust spots to elevators by touching their noses or tongues to the doors. Also, it is not a matter of if but when accidents will occur which will cause unsanitary conditions and odors that are not easily resolved. Also, TVAM does not have staff to clean up an accident except between 8-5 on Monday – Friday. Finally, some people are highly allergic to animals and do not want to be subjected to pets in the enclosed area of the elevator.
