Why aren Ohio Stadium and the Schottenstein Center included?
A 4 percent tax on $62 Ohio State football tickets would generate a big chunk of money — nearly $1.8 million a season — but neither Ohio Stadium nor the Schottenstein Center was drawn into the benefit zone. Consultant John Rosenberger, former head of the Capitol South Community Urban Redevelopment Corp., said the Arena District was included because people would be willing to walk farther to and from a streetcar in that area. The ‘Shoe and the Schott are too far away from the end of the line, he said.
