Why aren all of the multi play skirmish modes available single play skirmish games?

The only modes of game play in single play Skirmish are Battle and Free for All. All other game modes are available when playing a network game over a Local Area Network (LAN), or when playing on XWIS. These modes can also be dependant on the map. Some maps will not have all of the modes available to them.
