Why are women generally more talkative than men?
Women TEND to be more emotional than men I think. So they like to share with their friends and family things they’ve found interesting, exciting, shocking etc. To men, many of the things that women talk about aren’t interesting because we don’t attach emotion to the news/discoveries in the same way. Even for a guy I think I’m very quiet and that’s because I don’t feel there are always things worth talking about. I’ll hear and see lots of things, all of which register with me consciously, but it’s not that often that I’ll feel something about it and even less often something that I’ll want to share it. I think men are generally a bit colder and introverted. Driven more by logic and less by emotion. We’ll talk about something if there is a need to exchange information or to seek an opinion rather than to share the emotion itself. We do tend to be a little bit egotistical as well, so we’ll talk about something if it makes us look better somehow. I think men also like to share humour more.
