Why are WhisperKOOL rivets so difficult to access?
Actually the rivets are not difficult to access, the only way to safely get to the interior of the unit is through the top. It will need to be removed from the wall but then the rivets on top can be drilled out with a 1/8 drill bit. If you put the drill bit right into the center of the rivet, in less than a minute the head of the rivet will come right off. The key is to use a sharp drill bit, just a little bit bigger that the hole in the rivet, if you use a dull bit and that causes the rivet to just spin in the hole. Don’t use too much pressure all you want to do is to take the head off of the rivet, if needed take a chisel, put right under the edge and then tap with a hammer, just be careful not to scratch the top (but if you do no big deal, they are suppose to be mounted high up by the ceiling who will see)
