Why are we using EZboard instead of Blackboards discussion groups?
Several reasons. First, Blackboard’s discussion boards don’t operate efficiently with large numbers of posts or threads. Especially for those of you with dialup connections or slower computers, my experience has been that you will have substantially problems reading the blackboard boards after 100 or so posts are accumlated. Second, I want you to have the option of being able to “subscribe” to threads that concern you, so that you don’t have to constantly be logging on to blackboard and checking them. With Ezboard, you do this one of two ways. When posting yourself, you check the checkbox marked “Email me notification of all replies to this topic.” OR, if you haven’t posted (or even if you have,) simply click on the link in the phrase “Subscribe Click to receive email notification of replies” at the bottom left of the thread you have opened.
