Why are we specifically measuring employee engagement rather than staff satisfaction or organisation culture?

0

Employee engagement consists of three concepts: Organisational Commitment, Job Satisfaction, and Intention to Stay. The Voice Project survey provides us an opportunity to: • get feedback from staff on RMIT’s performance across a range of work factors; • measure employee engagement across RMIT; and • analyse how our performance against the range of work factors impacts on employees’ engagement at RMIT. Other surveys provide the opportunity to better understand staff satisfaction with a range of work factors or can provide an analysis of RMIT’s culture. These measures alone would not provide us with specific analysis to inform action that is targeted at improving employees’ experience of working at RMIT. The key purpose of the survey is to inform strategies to improve attraction and retention of staff and the analysis provided by the Voice Project survey will provide us with clear information to ensure we focus on the right actions.
