Why are we consolidating to one medical vendor and getting rid of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia?
• Over the past two years, the partnership we have with BCBS-GA has not met Emory’s standards for service, accuracy, security and quality. Aetna’s service and associated programs have been superior. In addition to better service, by combining all our plans with Aetna, we are able to realize a substantial savings in administrative costs, which helps keep the plan affordable for our faculty and staff. • Aetna’s network of providers is not a 100% match with BCBS-GA’s provider network so Aetna is actively working to recruit providers that our faculty and staff have used in the past to join their network.Learn more about the Aetna POS Value Replacement Plan.
