Why are water based timber finishing products better?
Water based timber finishes are based on water, instead of solvents, and are therefore better for the environment, being low in VOCs and easier to clean up. Brushes etc can be washed up in water, whereas brushes etc used for solvent based finishes need to be washed up in turps. Water based products are also quicker to dry, which often means you can apply all the coats required within one day.
