Why are VMS applications unresponsive after Management Center for Intrusion Detection System Sensors (IDS MC) and Management Center for Security Monitor (SecMon) are installed?
A. The IDS MC/SecMon installer updates the system parameters (/etc/system). The system has to be rebooted after installation to reflect the changes made in the /etc/system file. This is documented in Installing Management Center for IDS Sensors 1.2 and Monitoring Center for Security 1.2, but the installer does not prompt you to reboot and you might miss this step. If you miss this step, all VMS applications become unresponsive after IDS MC and SecMon are installed on the system.
