Why are view counts calculated differently than YouTube?
Unlike YouTube, which bases its view count on aggregate, or total views, the Tongal player is designed to count both aggregate and unique views. If you had the patience, you could sit in front of a computer all day and click on your own YouTube Video to increase the number of times it has been “seen.” The Tongal player does not allow for this to happen. Rather, such activities would be accounted for under the number of aggregate views, but would not change the number of unique views. In order to win a Most Viewed Phase, you must have the greatest number of unique views. Aggregate views are used simply as reference points and for the purposes of Tongal competitions are essentially meaningless.
