Why are transponder readers over the HOT lane and the general purpose lane?
There are two sets of transponder readers installed along SR 167 in the HOT lane corridor. The two sets of readers enable the system to pinpoint the exact lane location of a transponder. So, vehicles with transponders traveling outside the HOT lane are not mistakenly tolled, and tolls post to accounts only for customers in the HOT Lane.
