Why are TPC tournament fees more than the regular green fees?
Most courses in the area charge a premium rate for booking large groups. This premium enables the groups to reserve tee times far in advance of when the general public could sign up for times. In most cases, the extra charge also includes a mandatory cart fee, and often a sleeve of golf balls or some other pro shop item, regardless of if we want them or not. The courses use tournaments as an easy way to generate extra revenue for themselves. But rest assured, TPC members pay exactly what the course charges us for the round.
