Why are things in england so expensive in camparison to usa???
There are a few reasons: 1) The US Dollar currently isn’t worth very much 2) The UK is one of the most overcrowded countries in the world, so buying or renting property for retail or to live in or for any other purpose is more expensive and this pushes up prices elsewhere 3) People in the UK are taxed more, although they get things for their tax like free healthcare and most of the cost of going to college 4) People in the UK earn a lot more. The UK minimum wage is worth about $11.50 5) People in the UK have money to spend and this in itself pushes up prices. E.g. there are loads of people looking for good carers to look after their children, so those carers can charge more.
