Why are there two power connectors on the E8000 server board?

The larger 24 pin power connector is actually two power connectors in one. The first 20-pins of the power connector are designed to match standard ATX power supply pin outs. Therefore if the E8000 board is integrated into a third party chassis, the standard 20-pin ATX power supply should be plugged into the first 20-pins of this connector and the extra 4 pins are left unused. All 24-pins are used when the E8000 is integrated into the Cabrillo-C chassis. The Cabrillo-C chassis uses a special power connector that takes advantage of the four extra pins which provide additional 5V current to the board. Very close to the 24-pin connector, turned 90 degrees to the 24-pin power connector is the Auxiliary power connector. This connector is 1 row of 6 pins and is used to provide additional 3.3V and 5V current to the baseboard. This connector is found on many 3rd party ATX power supplies and should be connected when integrating the E8000 server board into a non-Intel chassis.
