Personally I think that in the UK Black people live the same lifestyle as Caucasian people and therefore don’t have many stereotypes associated with them. On TV the Black British people are portrayed in the same way as the Caucasian ones – like Martha in “Doctor Who”, Denzil in “Only Fools and Horses”, and the Cat in “Red Dwarf”. In the USA most Black people live in a different subculture. They listen to different music, watch different TV channels, drive different types of car, wear different fashions, and use different dialects to the Caucasian and Hispanic Americans. Because they try to be different and act differently I guess people treat them differently. Some Black people lead mainstream lives in America and usually do not attract the same kinds of racism as the ones who are part of the Black subculture.
