Hi, I own a staff and I believe most of them end up in shelters due to owner ignorance.People buy staffs and dont realise just how much time you have to put into this breed to make a good dog, staffs are naturally boisterous and playful they just need a good owner who is prepared to train them well from the start. I have had staffs for 20yrs and have never had any problems, mine have been brought up to be loving, loyal, family pets and are great with other dogs, kids etc. As in all breeds a dog learns from its owner so it is no wonder these lovely dogs are persecuted for being dangerous when it is the owners fault for allowing them to become like that! Please dont judge all staffs by a few bad examples, mine are gorgeous (and well behaved) P.S. I’m in the UK and staffs ARE NOT “pit bulls” they are bull terriers!
