Why are there so many English teaching jobs in Korea?

0

There is a constant turnover of ESL teachers as contracts are for a 12 month period, starting at any time of the year. The demand for English teachers is extremely high and more and more schools are expanding as Koreans are realizing the importance of learning English as a second language. With increasing needs for the improvements of English curriculum, as a step in implementing English education, Korean Ministry on Education is gradually placing native speakers of English into every elementary and middle school in Korea. On top of that more and more private schools are opening and with this increase in schools come an increase in the demand for ESL teacher jobs.
