Why are there so many consent forms on the order form, in the kit box, and on the Web page?
DNA and genetic testing is a sensitive matter both for pubic participants and the scientists analyzing their results. We want to protect the privacy of our participants, and we want them to be fully aware of the use, purpose, and methods of testing their DNA. The consent forms serve as additional tools to communicate the objectives of the project and the methodologies employed, as well as a mechanism for the participant to acknowledge his or her understanding.
