There’s not as large a demand for that type of cuisine. There are handfuls in the Daly City area (which has a significant Filipino population), some of which are more the “take out” types rather than fine dining establishments. Thai has a much greater general appeal because of the less radical flavors and seasonings relative to Filipino cooking. One can argue that Filipino cuisine almost assaults your tastes buds because of the strength of the flavors whereas Thai is a bit softer and caresses the palette. This is not to be confused with the relative spiciness of the different cuisines.
