Why are there multiple Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies teachers?
One of the main ESLRs of Al-Arqam is to produce students who live Islam as a way of life. This encompasses the knowledge and application of religious teachings, based on the Qur’an, the history of our faith, and example of our Prophet (pbuh), in order to instill in students, from their early childhood, a love for their faith, a strong sense of haram and halal, and pride in their Muslim identity. Islamic schools emphasize these goals through their Islamic Studies, Arabic and Qur’an Memorization classes. This instruction is precisely the reason that the majority of families choose Islamic schools over secular schools. AIS offers four levels of Arabic Language instruction, for students in grades 6 and above. All new students are assessed at the start of the school year and placed in their appropriate levels.
