Why are there gaps in my 3100 PQNode/PQPagerstrip charts?
Unlike other inexpensive instruments, the 3100 PQPager carefully keeps track of what it knows — and what it doesn’t know. There are three possible reasons for gaps in your strip charts: • Your PQPager wasn’t monitoring the power, because its instrument power was turned off (for longer than its UPS time). • You changed the setting on your PQPager’s clock. Advancing the clock by an hour, for example, will create a one-hour gap in your strip chart. • You were communicating with your PQPager for longer than 30 minutes. Your PQPager can buffer up to 30 minutes of strip chart data while it is communicating with you (through PES, its voicemail-like interface, or through pagers). If you have a very, very early PQPager, you may need a firmware upgrade to Rev C or later. You Customer Support engineer can insert this upgrade into your PQPager over the telephone; there’s no need to return it to the factory.
