Why are there different guest allowances?
It depends on the size of the theater. As the distributors and studios pay for the theaters the BAFTA East Coast Screening Committee works with large and small distributors who have different budgets for their screenings. Academy Voters must have priority seating, followed by Professional Member categories. We set the guest allowance around the size of the theater and membership levels. Most screenings allow for a minimum of one guest. Many distributors allow for additional family members when the movie is suitable.
